If it’s not quite there, park it and return to it later.
I recently invested some time into rewatching the seminal Peter Jackson Beatles documentary Get Back.
Whatever line of work you’re in, you’ll learn something from watching people operating at the top of their game.
Here are a few nuggets I took from rewatching The Beatles in Get Back.
Embrace discomfort, ambiguity, and mess.
Keep going.
If it’s not quite there, park it and return to it later.
A good idea can come from anywhere and anybody (watch Paul McCartney’s face when it’s suggested that they play their live show on the roof of the Apple Corps HQ).
Don’t take yourself too seriously.
Don’t be afraid of starting again.
Don’t be precious – have strong views, but hold them lightly.
Respect what others bring to the table.
Know when you need help, and don’t be afraid to ask.
If you can get away with it, wear a pink pinstriped suit (trousers tucked into multicoloured Inuit moccasin boots) and a purple shirt.
